Living Spaces Development

An outdoor living space is one that should allow you to extend your entertaining and living space from inside the home into the backyard. We understand that the design of your outdoor living space should reflect your needs. It should be a functional space that offers both privacy and comfortability for entertaining or relaxing.

With more clients looking to take entertaining outside, we are becoming more creative in building outdoor living spaces.

Outdoor Living Spaces can include:

  • Pergolas – Pergolas bring shade and privacy so homeowners can bring outdoor dining and entertainment into their backyard. They can be attached to your home, or detached to create shelter over an outdoor hot tub or seating area.
  • Privacy Walls/Trellis – Privacy walls create additional
privacy and add a wind block so your outdoor space can be
enjoyed on those cooler evenings. Whether it be designed in wood or metal, a privacy wall or trellis creates a beautiful
    backdrop for outdoor living spaces.
  • Benches/Planter Boxes – Built in benches and planter
boxes are a great feature to define the perimeter of the deck. Benches can be used to substitute for a railing, and add extra seating to a deck without taking up added space. Benches and planter boxes are usually made with the same material as the deck surface. Whether they be built-in, or free standing, they give your outdoor space functionality, character and color.
  • Lighting – Choosing the right outdoor lighting with help beautify your space, and makes is a useful gathering place any time of the day, year round. The outdoor lighting options are limitless, whether it be LED post lighting in railing, lighting in the deck surface, or accent lighting on the stairs. LED options come in several colors choices, where you have the option to change the color from your phone based on the mood you want to set. At the end of the day when the sun goes down, outdoor lighting creates added safety, and is an attractive compliment to your outdoor living space.
  • Outdoor Kitchens – A fully equipped outdoor living space with a kitchen, dining area and comfortable seating can be as perfect for large gatherings as it is for small. An outdoor kitchen can be something as simple as a BBQ with built-in cabinets, or as large of an investment as you would put into creating an indoor kitchen. It’s important to determine which features will work for your backyard space and will get you the most bang for your buck. If you plan to incorporate an outdoor kitchen into you space, remember that function plays a more important role than aesthetics.
  • Hot tubs/pools – The addition of a hot tub to your backyard can add years of enjoyment to your outdoor living space. A hot tub or swim spa can be integrated into your deck or landscape so it’s functional and fits attractively into your design scheme.
